Long afternoons by the pool

In Minho summers, the afternoon is an institution. Between three and six, nothing that can wait is done. Cities slow, markets close, dogs sleep under the olives. The Villa's pool is where we keep this tradition. 28°C year-round, loungers around, pine shade by the edge, the outdoor kitchen ten metres away. By six-thirty there's deep shade in the garden - time to leave, but unhurriedly.
