The Lima Valley cycle path

The Lima Valley railway ran 1915-1990 between Viana and Ponte de Lima. When it closed, the council turned its 31 km into a cycle path. Flat, river-side, twenty bridges and short tunnels, rest areas with fountains. Perfect half-day ride: leave Viana station 9 am, lunch in Ponte de Lima, train back at 4 pm with the bike. The Villa has secure bike storage. Bike Plus in Viana centre rents (€15/day, €30 e-bikes).
